# Fifty books: findings after review

The second Expression Library batch covers priorities **11–60** of the retained queue. All **693 proposed additions** were promoted through the saved Keeper review package, bringing the pinned edition from **1,477 to 2,170 checked concepts**. The founder reports that this dictionary edition is online. The public preparation verifies the saved reviewed package; it does not claim a fresh independent live snapshot.

The atlas also carries **144 proposed source applications of existing checked definitions** and **two additional cross-book applications of shared definitions**. These counts are different from new definitions. Reviewing a definition does not automatically approve its application, the source’s claims, or the atlas’s synthesis.

Each of the fifty reading maps includes a proposed thesis, selected movement through the source, conceptual facets, explicit comparisons, alternative emphases, and coverage limits. The maps are research compositions. They do not replace the original editions or claim exhaustive reading.

## What fifty books revealed

The wider batch spans twenty editorial domains and makes overlap more visible. Existing vocabulary should do work when it fits. New identifiers are useful when they preserve a missing reusable distinction, rather than merely raising the count. No per-book minimum was imposed.

The Tao Teh King and Dhammapada self-mastery proposals share one definition while retaining separate arguments and source evidence. Ricardo’s and Henry George’s differential-rent proposals likewise share a definition; George’s larger argument remains separately represented. These are the two shared-definition applications counted above. They do not establish equivalence between traditions or entire theories. Charles C. Adams’s warning against treating counts of newly described forms as the measure of ecological progress uses an existing definition.

The first ten-book batch added **327 concepts**, or **32.7 per book**, with **100 proposed reuse applications**. This fifty-book batch added **693**, or **13.86 per book**, with **144 proposed reuse applications**. The lower rate cannot establish improved efficiency or declining value: the source selection, available vocabulary, reading depth and length all differ. A useful new application can enrich expression without adding a new definition.

## Coverage and rating

The complete source indexes contain **76,404 blocks**. The combined reading ledgers record **3,892 inspected blocks**. Blocks vary from short verses to substantial extracted pages. These numbers document selection and navigation; neither counts comprehension or establishes a comparable percentage of each book read.

The fifty editions follow the original acquisition priorities, not a new ranking based on demonstrated conceptual yield. All are editorial nominations within the first hundred. The full thousand-ID queue distributes fifty entries to each of twenty domains and interleaves them. Its numerical topical-fit score combines catalogue signals; its editorial rationale suggests what a book might contribute. Neither is a literary rating or a forecast of accepted concepts.

The first-attribution cap and normalized work-family grouping are heuristics. They do not establish complete author or translator diversity or prove that each Gutenberg ID is a distinct complete work. English-readable editions and translations inherit the archive’s language, period and publication biases. The downloadable selection plan retains its original pre-reading status labels as history; the reviewed atlas records this batch’s later state.

## The path to 10,000

The reviewed edition is **21.7%** of the numerical target. **7,830 net additions** remain. Across the first sixty editions, the programme has added **1,020 concepts**, averaging **17 per edition**.

Formula: round up (7,830 ÷ future net additions per book). Each row is conditional arithmetic, not a forecast, quota, schedule, or measurement of expressive depth. Reuse, fuller reading and later review can change the rate. The first assumption of roughly one hundred books yielding ten thousand concepts is not supported by these two observed batch rates.

## What remains distinct

Historical explanations remain attributed to their editions. They are not automatically current medical, legal or scientific guidance. Fictional speakers are not silently assigned to their authors. Translation, commentary, source wording, concept definition and the atlas’s interpretation are separate layers.

Three editions use derived HTML/PDF reading text. Original files, extraction provenance and exact byte spans remain available. Formula images and page layout cannot always be represented by the derived text alone; the atlas records those limits. Retained rights notices state their original territorial scope.

All 693 promotions resolve through their actual checked provenance and permanent colour allocations. Replaying the recorded decisions using the supplied Keeper reproduces the five reviewed state files byte for byte. The old checked prefix, dropped archive and working examples w0, w1 and w2 remain preserved. The historical LEGACY_ID_HISTORY warning and retained gate flags remain in the audit rather than being erased.

No new USL1/CVP transmission or independent receiver interpretation trial has been performed for this batch. This release enriches and publishes the conceptual vocabulary and its proposed readings. Source hashes establish byte consistency, not interpretive authority.
