The Casting — From the Wheel onto the Wall
The Render showed the cycle; the Casting runs it for real. New boxes stay, the wall grows in your hands, entropy climbs in the open — and gravity walks out of the counting itself, as the slow leg that turns every path toward the pile, while the universe expands around it.
In the Render, every spawned box merged away by the end of its cycle — rehearsals. Here the wheel keeps pouring track onto the wall: whole planes of new boxes land at random stations, on random axes, and remain. Chance chooses where; law chooses what — every landing splits its neighbors’ sums into thirds, permanently. The world grows from a few dozen boxes toward two thousand, the mean per box falls, the spread of the distribution — entropy, read live in bits — climbs toward its ceiling. And one figure never moves: the sum, recomputed from every box, every frame, worn as a copper badge.
Then the other half of the story. Put a pile in the world — a region where the books are heavy and the counting runs slow — and launch walkers past it. Each walker is two legs and a direction; each leg advances at its own local rate; and the child’s sentence from the Apple page becomes the literal update rule: the slow leg turns you. Light grazes and leans a little. A slow walker leans hard. A tossed stone leans so long it can no longer leave. No pulling appears anywhere in the code, and both legs’ rates are readable live as they differ — the whole of the turning is that difference.
The last bench runs everything at once: the void growing and thinning, entropy up, sum still — and a bound copper island at the center that does not thin, because the regathering of the Render wins inside it. It rides the grid but never stretches, while a walker circles it, leaning on every step, indifferent to the expansion. Expansion is the casting, matter is the kept number, gravity is the cost of keeping it — three names for one audit.
The page separates its claims: established — expansion measured since 1929, adding distance between unbound things while bound things hold their size; conservation never caught failing; entropy’s climb as Boltzmann’s statistics of conserved quantities spread over growing state-spaces; clocks slower in deeper potentials; light leaning 1.75″ at the grazed Sun since 1919; Huygens 1678 — a front whose near edge runs slow, turning; the reading — the wheel casting the wall, entropy as what a kept sum looks like across more boxes, matter as the regathered number, gravity as the lean of the slow leg; open, and said in the open — the lean rule is Huygens’ construction, the capture spiral exists because the toy keeps no angular-momentum books, the rate field falls as 1∕(1+load) not as the measured lapse. Direction true, curve not. The measured curves live in the Orrery and the Bridge.
